Warner Bros. Faces AwkwardScheduling With ‘Clayface’ and ‘TheBatman: Part II’ Set for Back-to-BackReleases.

Warner Bros. and DC Studios might be heading toward a confusing chapter in their
cinematic calendar. The upcoming Clayface movie, part of James Gunn’s new DCU, is
reportedly scheduled for September 2026, while Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II existing in
a completely separate universe arrives just a year later, in October 2027.

Two Gotham stories, two different Batmen, one big question: is Warner Bros. risking
audience confusion?
Clayface, directed by James Watkins and written by Mike Flanagan, will focus on Matt
Hagen, a failed actor who turns into a shape-shifting monster. The film is described as a
psychological horror and won’t feature Batman at all.
Meanwhile, The Batman: Part II continues Matt Reeves’ noir take on Gotham with Robert
Pattinson as the Dark Knight. But because Reeves’ films exist in the Elseworlds label, the
two projects are not connected in any way.
