For devotees of the television series Supernatural, recent weeks have brought a mix of news regarding the fate of the beloved show. Following the announcement that all fifteen seasons would be departing from a major streaming platform, came the revelation that the demon-hunting Winchester brothers would find a new streaming home on multiple platforms starting in December. Now, further details have emerged: Sam and Dean will confront an unusual holiday challenge.
Dynamite Entertainment will publish a Supernatural comic book Valentine’s Day special on February 4, 2026. In this latest adventure, the Winchesters face a threat arguably more daunting than death and demons: love, and the potentially dangerous acts it can inspire. Preeti Chhibber is the writer for the special, with art by Pasquale Qualano.
The storyline involves the Winchesters contending with the consequences of someone attempting to resurrect a deceased loved one. Those familiar with the Supernatural universe know that tampering with death carries significant risks. The situation escalates when this interference draws in an “uncontrollable goddess of desire,” posing a formidable challenge even for the experienced Winchesters.
According to the official description of Supernatural Valentine’s Day Special 2026 1: “LOVE IS STRONGER THAN DEATH—AND JUST AS TERRIFYING! Sam and Dean Winchester know a thing or two about love and loss. After all, they’ve abandoned any pretense of a normal life and hit the road to hunt down the entity that took the lives of their loved ones. So, if anyone can understand the kind of heartache that would cause a person to turn to demonic forces in order to bring someone back from the dead, it’s the brothers Winchester.
But just because something is understandable doesn’t make it advisable — and it certainly doesn’t make it safe! IN fact, you can pretty much count on things going wrong in unexpectedly spectacular ways when you meddle with the fundamental forces of mortality. In this case, trying to command a minor minion of the underworld has resulted in the summoning of an ancient and uncontrollable goddess of desire. The rampage that ensues embodies the true power of love — and only Sam and Dean can stop it!”
In addition to this forthcoming holiday special, the Supernatural narrative continues in the pages of Dynamite’s ongoing Supernatural comic series. Debuting on October 29th, the series, penned by Greg Pak with art by Eder Messias, recaptures the “Monster of the Week” format that defined the television show’s early seasons. While positioned between the first and second seasons of the television series, the comic seemingly exists within Season 1, referencing the brothers’ search for their father, who meets his end at the beginning of Season 2. Mirroring the energy and storytelling of the show’s inaugural season, the comic promises to deliver compelling tales and enrich the wider Supernatural mythos. While a television revival or reunion remains the ultimate desire for many Supernatural enthusiasts, this comic continuation captures the spirit of the original series, potentially making the Valentine’s Day special a truly exceptional addition.
