The second film has plenty of other hits from the original production, and it knows…

The soundtrack for the upcoming motion picture Wicked: For Good will feature familiar musical numbers from the celebrated Broadway production, alongside the addition of two original compositions crafted specifically for the film. Tasked with adapting the latter portion of the stage show, the movie sequel faces the challenge of replicating the impact of the original Wicked soundtrack, specifically the iconic ballad “Defying Gravity”.

However, the second installment boasts an array of celebrated songs originating from the stage production, each strategically positioned to amplify emotional resonance.

The track listing encompasses: “No One Mourns the Wicked”, expected to set the stage by chronicling the historical backdrop of Oz and elucidating the demise of the Wicked Witch of the East under Dorothy’s residence. “Dear Old Shiz” will chronicle the initial meeting between Elphaba and Glinda upon their arrival at Shiz University, alongside introductions to fellow students. “Something Bad” highlights Doctor Dillamond’s ominous warnings to Elphaba concerning potential perils within Oz, cautions likely to be disregarded. “Dancing Through Life” portrays Glinda, Fiyero, and Boq’s interactions at a Shiz University gathering, fostering deepening connections.

“I’m Not That Girl” allows Glinda to express her affections for Fiyero, acknowledging his reciprocal feelings for Elphaba. Elphaba’s origins are unveiled in “The Wicked Witch of the East”, clarifying her sibling Nessarose’s transformation into the Wicked Witch. “Wonderful” showcases Elphaba and Glinda’s encounter with the Wizard, who pledges assistance but intends manipulation for self-serving purposes. “As Long As You’re Mine” captures Elphaba and Fiyero’s mutual declaration of love, initiating a clandestine romance.

Following a series of tragedies, “No Good Deed” reflects Elphaba’s vow to abandon acts of kindness. “March of the Witch Hunters” depicts Oz’s populace initiating a manhunt for Elphaba, holding her accountable for societal tribulations. “For Good” facilitates Glinda and Elphaba’s contemplation on their bond and mutual influence. The “Finale” concludes the film, potentially depicting Elphaba’s rumored demise and Glinda’s ascension as the Good Witch.

The soundtrack also includes “The Meadow” and “I Couldn’t Be Happier,” two newly composed songs made exclusively for the film.
